This pigmented variety, fleshy and juicy, is prized for its distinctive acid-sweet flavor balance. Flesh is amber in color, with red streaks that vary in intensity according to the zone of production and the time of harvest. The red pigmented color is due to the anthocyanin pigments, natural substances which confer to the fruit its healthy character besides the color and taste.
